SUMMARY

Teaches one or more subjects to students in secondary schools by performing the following duties.  Courses offered include: Carpentry I and Carpentry II

QUALIFICATIONS

Must hold a valid Virginia Teaching license with an endorsement in Carpentry.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Demonstrates command of Standard English, both spoken and written

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals.  Ability to write reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of teachers, parents, students, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid certification to meet State requirements with specific endorsement in the area to which assigned.

The employee must be able to push items of 50 pounds such as pushing a child on a bike or swing, or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to work both inside and outside and within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality.  Interruptions are routine and flexibility and patience are required. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

10 month contract.  Terms may vary based on the needs of the school and division.

 

EVALUATION  Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of  personnel.
