Summary:

The Piedmont Regional Education Program (PREP) seeks to contract with a school psychologist on a PRN basis to conduct psycho-educational assessments for special education eligibility.  

Compensation: $40 - $57 per hour or an agreed-upon flat rate per evaluation.

Primary Function:

To conduct psycho-educational assessments for PREP participating school divisions.

 Required Qualifications:

1. A collegiate professional license with an endorsement in School Psychology is required; AND
2. A Master’s degree from an accredited institution or a current license in School Psychology issued by the Virginia Board of Psychology; AND
3. Two years’ experience as a school psychologist in a public middle or high school

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Five years successful experience in a public high school setting
2. Significant knowledge and experience in special education

General Definition and Conditions of Work:

Performs professional work performing psycho-educational assessments of individual students, including an assessment and interpretation of the student's intellectual, social, and emotional development and provides individual or small group counseling. Work requires frequent standing, light lifting up to 10 pounds, sitting, walking, vocal communication for expressing or exchanging ideas, hearing to perceive information at a normal spoken word level and visual acuity for preparing and analyzing written or computer data.
