SUMMARY
The teacher will work in a collaborative setting with other division staff to use the county-wide curriculum to assist all identified ESL students. Teaches and supports ESL students in grade PreK-12 per Title III plans by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist with Title III requirements.

Coordinate WIDA testing.

Plan, meet and instruct ESL students during the designated time(s) and location(s).

Support ESL students through the use of materials and resources in accordance with the curriculum.

Collaborate with other staff to support ESL students and meet the instructional goals and objectives.

Establish and maintain open communication with students, colleagues and parents to ensure academic and behavioral progress for all ESL students.

Encourage family and community participation in school events.

Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, record results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress.

Keeps attendance records.

Maintains discipline in classroom.

Meets with parents to discuss student progress and problems.

Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.

Participates in ESL related activities, meetings and professional development.

Performs related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counseling student in adjustment and academic problems.

Complies with school and school board policies and regulations.

Demonstrates professional growth.

Prompt and accurate with required records and reports.

Uses instructional and planning time effectively.

Assumes responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities.

Assumes responsibility for a neat, safe environment for students committed to his/her care.

Demonstrates knowledge of the subject being taught.

Uses out-of-class assignments, when appropriate, to support the instructional objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid Virginia Teaching license with the English as a Second Language PreK-12 endorsement.
Valid certification to meet State requirements with specific endorsement in the area to which assigned.

Must be able to work both inside and outside and within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions are routine and flexibility and patience are required.
